Cottage by Lake Syväjärvi
Sittala Cottage, located on the shore of Lake Syväjärvi, provides a serene setting for families and smaller groups seeking a quiet retreat. The cottage has two bedrooms, one with two beds and another with a bunk bed. Additionally, the loft provides sleeping space for four on mattresses.
Outside, you’ll find a private pier and a sandy beach. You can reach the beach by stairs, or take a slightly longer route along the road. A small sauna is available by the water.
Activities
During your stay, you can explore life and activities at the nearby farm, hike in the surrounding forests, pick berries and mushrooms, and go fishing. In summer, the farmyard is home to sheep, rabbits, chickens, and horses, which are a favourite among visitors. Children can play in the charming loft playroom of the old barn, next to the farm’s local history museum. The farm also has a sensory garden, which can be visited by prior arrangement.
There are excellent outdoor trails and hiking spots close to the cabin. A traditional log wilderness hut on a nearby hill invites hikers to warm up by an open fire and grill sausages along the way. Other memorable spots include a windmill set among the fields and the scenic Ruonankallio viewpoint. The surrounding area also offers many places to visit, such as the ironworks villages of Fiskars and Billnäs, as well as Mustio Manor.

Available for short-term rental year-round. From Midsummer until the start of the school year, rentals are available by the week only.
Pets are welcome.
Final cleaning and bed linens are not included in the price but can be purchased separately.
